I had the pleasure of meeting one of the founders, Christian Lane, recently and he was kind enough to show me around the space at 2610 Manor Road (it’s mostly a shell right now but it’s taken lots of work to get it that way), and to share details about what is to come for this beyond-resourceful East Austin hub. Here is what I learned!
I could see the excitement in Christian’s eyes as he sees this masterpiece come to life. It really is so amazing how an idea can become a reality and make a difference in the process. in.gredients isn’t just a local grocery store. And, it’s not going to be just another eating experience. It’s at the front of a new movement with a focus on local products, an emphasis on only buying what you need. It’s about being resourceful and educating our community on how to do so. It’s about being aware of and taking care of our environments. And I am so excited to see it stand for all of these principles right here in Austin and to learn how I can be more efficient with my groceries, which may be a source of environmental waste. I can’t wait to jump right in to in.gredients! Stay tuned, maybe it will be a great way to kick off the new year in time for us to make our containerless resolutions…
